Our History
Founded by well-known hotel-industry experts, Sir David Michels and Hugh Taylor OBE, the Michels & Taylor brand was born in 2010. Today, the business continues to utilise a team of experts in finance, revenue and property, assisting with operational expectations and day-to-day activity. We're proud to be one of the largest hotel management companies in Europe, working with both independent and international brands.
Sir David Michels has more than 40 years of experience and boasts a strong hospitality and investment background, including respected positions at Hilton and Stakis hotels. He was knighted in 2006 for his services to the hotel and catering industry.
Likewise, Hugh Taylor has over 30 years of experience and comes from a marketing and hospitality background that includes Hilton, Radisson and Ramada. In 2008, he was awarded an OBE for his services to tourism and hospitality.
