Hertfordshire Business Awards Finalists

We are delighted to announce that our hotel management company has reached the finals of the Hertfordshire Business Awards for Employer of the Year.

Our industry is fast-paced, our drive undeniable; a business is only ever as good as its team, and we are honoured to have made it to the finals for Employer of the Year.

 

What are the awards?

The Hertfordshire Business Awards started in 1996 with the aim to recognise and reward the county’s top businesses in a variety of different sectors and categories. The Michels and Taylor team will be going to the ceremony on Thursday 22nd November at Knebworth House. This gala awards dinner is set to be an evening of excitement, of much celebration for few and consolation for many. We’re keeping our fingers crossed we’re the former, not the latter…

Not only is this event an invaluable opportunity to strengthen relationships with business leaders in Hertfordshire and beyond, but we are also looking forward to being able to share our expertise in the Hospitality, Asset and Consultancy Management sector.

 

What would winning this award mean?

Michels and Taylor have successfully grown over recent years, and in our roots, we initially began as an Asset Management business. We now offer a complete solution for hotel owners, with services that include Asset Management, Consultancy, Brand Solution and full Operational Management work. Such expansion has meant bringing more experts into the business – in the 10 years we’ve been established, the company has increased its workforce from just 5 employees to over 40 today. This expert team is the heart of M&T, and thanks to their skills we have built and maintained specialist functions including Commercial, Finance, Property and Hotel Operations.

We are constantly applying new ways of working within each discipline, and we strive to make sure that our teams’ backgrounds and skill sets are valued and nurtured. Winning this award would be recognition for the value we place on our team and offer external validation for the effort M&T puts into keeping our team happy. As well as many internal development programmes, we invest heavily in the recruitment and retention of team members. It might be surprising to learn that when someone’s journey comes to an end with M&T, we still maintain a relationship with them. It’s just what we believe; you should never undervalue the people in your business, the nature of our work is fully reliant on the skillset we employ, especially in hotel asset management.

We won’t bore you with the whys, how’s and dos – the largest benefit for our team members is the flexibility and ‘family comes first’ approach M&T encourages. We’re looking forward to the awards immensely, and hope we are able to add the accolade of Employer of the Year to our list.
